A PRIMARY SCHOOL near Stroud is celebrating its 150th anniversary this year with an open morning for all former pupils and staff.

Chalford Hill Primary School is welcoming anyone who went to the school or worked there to pay a visit on Friday, June 14 between 9.30am and 11.30am and have a look around.

A spokesperson for the school explained: "You’ll see our brand new mural, created by local illustrator Ruth Hickson, depicting the history of the school from 1874 to the present day.

"Current pupils will be swapping their normal uniform that day to dress in costume from any era between the Victorian age and more recent decades.

"Pupils will also be learning about the history of the school and the social history of those different eras, during which Chalford Hill Primary School sat at the heart of its local community as it continues to do today.

"Please do come and celebrate with us and share your experiences of learning and working at Chalford Hill Primary School."
