CHRISTMAS will be celebrated in Nailsworth at a special farmers' market event.

The Nailsworth Christkindl and Goodwill evening will not be taking place this year to give organisers a break.

Nailsworth Noel will run alongside the last farmers' market of the year on Saturday, December 22 from 10am to 3pm and will be a celebration of what the town has to offer.

There will be stalls, music, roasted chestnuts, and mulled cider, a Christmas-theme treasure hunt and Santa's grotto.

A committee has been set up within Nailsworth Chamber of Trade and Commerce to organise the event.

Samantha Hyde, membership secretary, said: "Traders in Nailsworth wanted to provide an opportunity for families to experience Nailsworth's vibrant community, understand what Nailsworth has to offer and revel in the spirit of Christmas.

"By creating an event that takes place two days before Christmas Eve and on the same day as the farmers market, we hope the community will be encouraged to come into Nailsworth."
