Burning desire for dragon

A DRAGON is needed urgently to rescue a group of youngsters from potential embarrassment.

The dragon is an integral part of a mummers play due to be performed as part of the Minchinhampton Country Fair next month.

The play, which includes a confrontation between St George and the dragon, has been written and will be performed by youngsters from the Mincinhampton Dramatic Society Youth Theatre but they are desperately short of a dragon costume.

Suzie Almond, vice-chairman of the society, who has been helping the children with the play, believes there must be a dragon costume somewhere in the Stroud valleys.

"There must be someone out there who can come to our rescue. Even a dragon mask would be better than nothing," she said.

The mummers play will be performed in front of the Minchinhampton war memorial at 3.30pm on Saturday, September 8.

If anyone can help with a dragon outfit before then they should contact Mrs Almond on 01453 821747.
