It's Five Valleys Walk time again

IN just a few weeks hundreds of people will be digging out their walking boots and gearing up for the annual Five Valleys Walk.

The popular charity walk raises thousands of pounds every year for the Meningitis Trust's ongoing battle against the killer disease.

Since the launch of the walk 14 years ago it has raised almost 500,000. This year's event will take place on Sunday, September 30 and participants will be invited to take on anything from a leisurely stroll along a short stretch of the route or tackle the full 20-mile hike around the district's countryside.

Walkers are asked to pay a registration fee of 3 per head, though families can register for 8 and company teams pay 20 all in.

Registration forms can be picked up from Cheltenham & Gloucester branches as well as from Tourist Information centres in Stroud, Nailsworth, Tetbury, Gloucester or Cheltenham.

Or would-be walkers can contact the trust direct on 01453 768000.

Sponsor forms for dogs are also available.
