Bids for MoD site are received

THE FUTURE of a large proportion of land at Aston Down should be decided by Christmas, now that 15 bids for of the site are in.

Agents Drivers Jonas will be recommending a preferred bidder to the Ministry of Defence, which is selling the 57 acre site around the edge of the airfield, including 18 hangars.

Most of the bidders are UK-based and do not intend changing its use from storage. No offers have been made by housebuilders.

After a preferred bidder is decided upon this week, negotiations will begin with an eye on completing the deal by Christmas.
