Army dad races home for his early Christmas baby

BABY Joshua David Allen was so determined not to miss Christmas even the military might of the British Army couldn't hold back his arrival into the world.

The 6Ib 2oz bouncing boy turned out to be an extra surprise present on Christmas Day for his Stonehouse mum Tania Imrie.

Because Joshua wasn't due for nearly another month, army dad Charlie Allen who is serving as an Infantryman in Northern Ireland was all set to return home on January 4 in plenty of time for his birth.

But Joshua had other ideas. An hour and a minute before the Queen's speech he made his appearance in the world.

But his premature delivery 25 days early really caught his dad on the hop. While all the drama around Joshua's birth was taking place, Charlie was still racing across the Irish Sea.
