Couple's gutter disgust

LEAKY guttering has put a damper on a Chalford couple's attempts to spruce up their home.

Martin and Marie Vincent called in SunSeal (UK) Limited to install all-new guttering at their house in Randalls Green.

But their delight with what they thought was a job well done quickly faded when they discovered guttering falling the wrong way, down pipes fixed with nails instead of screws and water leaking from joints.

The couple have now been left with a leaky porch and have had to call in another contractor at a cost of £320 to put the work right.

Mrs Vincent said: "All the work was done in one day. It looked OK at the time but since then we've realised we've got lots of problems. They've never corrected it and now we've had enough."

She said she had telephoned SunSeal every week for about five weeks to try and get them to come out since the work was done in early November. "They sent one contractor out and they said they would order parts but they've not been back."

After several attempts the News & Journal eventually made contact with a senior SunSeal spokesman.

Bob Taylor, the new manager of SunSeals Stroud depot, said he would be arranging to meet the Vincents this week.

Previous managers have not dealt with it, he said. Its been pushed back and back and I will sort the problem out.
