Dagenham 1, Forest Green Rovers 1

A gritty defensive display by Rovers made sure they gained a point at Conference promotion hopefuls Dagenham & Redbridge on Saturday.

Spinks side took a shock lead in the third minute of the match. Dagenham goalkeeper Tony Roberts failed with a clearance and Mark Cooper scored his ninth goal of the season from inside the six yard box.

The Daggers, however, equalised through their prolific striker Ken Charlery in the 19th minute.

Rovers keeper Steve Perrin saved a close range effort from Mark Janney but Charlery smashed the ball into the net.

Dagenham attacked the Rovers goal in search of an equaliser but the Nailsworth based side held on to secure an important point.
