Folk festival opens

THIS weekend sees the return of the Cheltenham Folk Festival. There's an astonishing range of traditional music being played with major names such as

Pauline Cato, The Old Hat Dance Band plus Norma Waterson and Martin Carthy. Fairport Convention legend Dave Swarbrick makes his first appearance at the festival this year and the opening night features hot young Scottish act Blazin' Fiddles, supported by Stroud's own Alan Burke.

The Festival runs from Friday, February 8 to Saturday, February 10 at Cheltenham Town Hall.
