FED up with waiting for a multiplex cinema to arrive in Stroud, film enthusiast Edward Tierney is looking to set up a community picturehouse in the town instead.
Mr Tierney, a freelance photographer told the News & Journal he has a passion for film and would like to get together with like-minded people to look at ways to get a small cinema opened in the town centre.
"I'm a huge film fan and I love working with the public," he said. "I'm just interested in getting it moving."
At the moment Mr Tierney lives in Worthing, Sussex.
But he said: "My parents live in Stroud and it's a really nice town. I would like to move here too.
"At the moment Stroud's trapped between the big cinemas in Gloucester and Bristol and people have to travel to one of those to watch a film.
"That seems absolutely ludicrous to me.
"What I would love to do is run it as a community cinema."
