Robbers bind female victim

THE car belonging to a woman who was bound, gagged and robbed at her home in Painswick this week, is still missing.

Masked raiders confronted the woman outside her house on the Cheltenham Road as she was unloading shopping from her car on Wednesday evening at 7.20pm.

After a brief struggle the woman was physically assaulted, tied to a chair, with black plastic ties the raiders had brought with them and then gagged with tape.

The raiders took 200 CDs, 300 DVDs and cash before escaping in the woman's silver Audi car.

Stroud's Sgt Keates said that the woman then managed to struggle free and raised the alarm with a neighbour.

She was taken to Gloucestershire Royal Hospital suffering from shock and injuries including bruising to the wrist.

The stolen property is believed to be worth around £5,000 and police are still looking for the Audi car registration number, M450 EBJ.

Police are appealing for witnesses who saw anything suspicious on the evening of Wednesday, February 27, along the Cheltenham Road or in the vicinity of the Royal William at Cranham.
