Bonds Mill: new plans in

THE FIRST in a line of planning applications has been filed for a controversial piece of land on the edge of Stonehouse.

Two detailed applications have been filed at Stroud District Council for office buildings in the field opposite the former Gartners factory.

Last month there was anger among Stonehouse residents and the town council, who were vehemently opposed to SDC selling a protective covenant on the land to development firm Robert Hitchins.

Stonehouse Town Council is still considering its legal options on the £100,000 deal.

Chris Haslam of Robert Hitchins, told the News & Journal that the latest application does not cover the whole site and has been filed to meet a client's specific requirements but that more applications are expected later this year.
