Caught in the Rat trap

POST-PUNK icon Bob Geldof is coming to Stroud to play the Fringe Festival. Tickets will be on sale in the next few weeks to see Sir Bob play live at the Subscription Rooms in September.

The former Boomtown Rats frontman who virtually invented charity rock when he spearheaded Band Aid in 1985 is expected to play to a packed house when he visits Stroud.

But just just how did the fFestival organisers persuade a celebrity who has filled the world's stadiums to play in such a small venue?
