Calling retailers with ideas

A PUBLICAN who wants Stroud to punch its commercial weight has issued a plea for entrepreneurs to step forward with a brand new idea for a shop in the town.

Ian Morrison, landlord of the Retreat in Church Street, believes the top end of the High Street and the streets leading to it are going through something of a Renaissance.

Mr Morrison has 950sq ft of retail space in the High Street waiting for the right business.

"The shop was empty for a long time and had gone in to such decay that every time I looked at it, it was just annoying me, so we bought it with the idea of converting it an getting a good retailer in to Stroud," explained Ian.

"We are interviewing retailers to make sure we get the right type of outlet that is going to help Stroud."

Mr Morrison is hoping to find an independent retailer who is looking to start up or expand. For more information call him on 01453 750208 or Brian Smith Property Management Ltd on 01453 792900.
