Little's tenth place finish

STUART Little has finished in a superb tenth place in the latest European Tour event, The Canarias Open de Espana, which was held in Gran Canaria.

The big hitting left hander secured the joint tenth finish with an overall three under score of 285. In the first round he hit a good score of 68, 72 in the second round and 70 then 75 in the third and fourth rounds.

The tenth place means that Little is now ranked 107th in the Volvo Order of Merit. He is above several big names such as Gary Orr, Paul Broadhurst and Robert Karlsson. In the European Tour's statistics, Stuart is flying high in the Greens in Regulations section, he is ranked joint 17th, hitting 70.7percent.

Pro-am this Friday

THIS Friday, May 3, sees the 11th annual Pro-Am golf tournament at the Old Course on Minchinhampton Common.

As popular as ever, 52 teams have entered including six ladies'. Professionals from the Western Region PGA will accompany the teams and will compete for a prize fund of £6500.

Sponsored for a second year by Omega Selection Services, the event commences at 7am and the final team is due to leave the first tee at 3.30pm.

Baylis Haines & Strange have prepared a car for a hole-in-one on the par three eighth hole and various holidays abroad are on offer for other hole-in-ones and nearest the pin on the other short holes.

The National Westminster Bank are giving a colour television to the amateur who finishes nearest the pin on the 16th hole. The presentations will take place in the club house at 8pm.
