It's a Trading Post Thing

A MONTH of silver anniversary celebrations for Stroud's oldest record shop kicks off this Saturday at The Space.

The Catalyst Collective has lined up four guest DJ's for It's a Trading Post Thing, along with Dub Beats residents Rawkus, Mr Messy and Deadly.

Fat Tuesday brings live drum and bass from the underground, Babyhead is set to air polemic hip hop and they will be joined on the bill by Nchant and Ragman.

Bar Black Sheep will be serving local ales for the event, which marks the start of a month of special celebrations.

Trading Post is the longest running independent record shop in the county and has seen many changes over that time, providing for a community with tastes for a wide range of genres.

Owner Simon Vincent had been a regular customer for most of his life until he took the shop over last year, realising that it would be cheaper to buy the business rather than carry on spending his cash on the stock.

Doors open for It's a Trading Post Thing at 7.30pm and tickets costing £4 are available from Kanes Records in Kendrick Street or Trading Post in Nelson Street, or £5 on the door. For more information call 07790 407254 or log on to www.beats-thing.com
