YOUNG athlete Alex Felce has added to his already impressive achievements list by being selected for the England squad.
Randwick runner Felce has was picked after his performance at the English Schools National Championships at Nottingham on Saturday, July 13.
Fifteen-year-old Alex, who has won the Midlands and SW Schools Championships this year, is a first year under -17 with another year left in the same age group.
He competed in the 1500m steeplechase after showing real aptitude for jumping in training sessions.
He ran a brilliant race and finished in 4min 21sec, knocking five seconds off his personal best, to gain a silver medal less than a second and a half off the winner.
Alex is a pupil at Archway School in Stroud and is coached by David Farrow at Gloucester AC.
He will make his debut performance wearing an England vest when he travels to Glasgow to take part in a home international next weekend.
