ON Sunday August 4, the Stroud and District motocross club hosts round four of the 2002 AMCA National motocross series at their Sallywood farm venue at Horsley.
In the 250cc class, Kawasaki rider Gary Davies of Shrewsbury currently leads the way on 160 points with defending champion Rick Du-Feu in second and top local rider James Cumber of the Uley and District club 29 off the pace in third.
In the Open class, Wildmoor KTM rider Simon Gower currently leads the way with a perfect 100 percent record on hid big 520cc bike, whilst Cheltenham club members Scott Herbert and Jay James are at present lying in fifth and twelfth places respectively in the championship table.
Indeed with herbert having a good knowledge of the Horsley circuit he could well improve his current standing after this round.
Whilst the championship classes will enjoy three motos of 18 minutes plus one lap duration, the twelve race programme also caters for the local club riders.
The action is due to get underway at 11am and with admission at just £4 for adults and children free, this is sure to be a great day of motocross action for all the family.
