PROBLEMS over when work can begin on a new nightclub for Stroud seem to be resolved and building work is now set to start.
Terry Coles, who owns the Warehouse in Dursley and plans to develop the old cinema in Stroud's London Road, said work was due to start on the building soon.
"I understand the taxi rank in the front of the building will be moved while the work is being done," he said.
Mr Coles said he expected the new club to open its doors in about five month's time, which he claimed would not be a moment too soon for Stroud's revellers.
"We get an awful lot of Stroud people over here at the Warehouse in Dursley at the weekend and they're forever asking when we're going to be opening in Stroud," he said.
Though details have yet to be decided, Mr Coles plans to call Stroud's new club the Warehouse and intends to make it more nightclub-oriented than its Dursley namesake, which is open during the daytime as a bistro and bar.
