What's in a name?

A MINCHINHAMPTON woman could be forgiven for thinking she might get a few extra presents this year - she is, after all, married to Father Christmas.

Sue Christmas of Glebe Road married Mark Robin Christmas in July.

As Mark has two children, Lisa and Matthew, he loves to tell people he is Father Christmas.

"People are always commenting on my name," he said."But I don't mind. I love Christmas."

Sometimes people think Sue is joking when she tells them her new title.

One delivery driver at Travelscope, Stonehouse where she works was reluctant to hand over the goods because he thought she was giving him a frosty reception.

"He told me to pull the other one," said Sue. "I'm sure he still thought I was joking when he drove away."

Mark and Sue will be at home for Christmas with Sue's daughter Sinead. * Other local people with festive names include Nailsworth artist Ruth Snowball and Painswick firefighter Sharon Christmas.
