Express love through art

ART-LOVERS and sweethearts have the chance to by a unique Valentine's gift if they visit a Nailsworth gallery.

Stained glass artist Imogen Harvey-Lewis from Washpool, near Horsley, has created an installation of tiny hearts, which can be bought separately or together from the Rivers gallery, Market Street.

Imogen explained: "I have been making these small glass hearts for the last few years, mainly for friends and family.

"From the start I envisaged them working individually and en mass as many single hearts, significant in themselves and powerful as a group."

The piece, called So Much Love, is made up of 130 small glass hangings.

They are each made of dried lily petals, pressed between two glass pieces and sealed with copper.

Imogen said: "Each is a metaphor for love and a single heart stands for one love.

"The delicate veining of the petals make each heart unique."

The entire installation would cost £500. Individual hearts are £4. Contact gallery owner Judi Jackson on 01453 836885.
