Surprise cheque settles BBC bill

THE story of the £150 BBC bill run up by Hollywood actor Joss Ackland and two other actors at a guest house in Nailsworth has finally been settled.

Last week our front page story told of the woes that the owners at the Laurels Guest house at Inchbrook Richard Williams-Allen and his wife Lesley who is mayor of Nailsworth endured to get their money.

A delighted Mr Williams-Allen contacted the SNJ newsroom on Monday to inform us of his long overdue cheque. "It has finally arrived," he said.

"We are so surprised that we are thinking of framing it on our guest house wall."
