THE family of a Stroud landowner who died almost 13 years ago held a rally on Saturday to raise awareness of what they believe are flaws in the legal system.
Tony Alliss, 40, died from gun shot wounds in Penn Woods, King's Stanley in 1990, during an argument over a boundary dispute. His neighbours Terence and Graig Maule were cleared of murder by a Judge at Bristol Crown Court on a point of law after he found there was no prior agreement between them to kill or injure Mr Alliss.
The Alliss family backed by more than 100 placard waving supporters marched for Justice for Victims in Tony's memory.
The march began at the bandstand at Stratford Park before ending with a rally and speeches at the Subscription Rooms.
Tony's widow Joyce and son Leigh were at the head of the march along with Tony's brother Bob and his wife Marilyn.
Marchers collected signatures for a petition demanding a safer Britain, more accountable judges and punishments that fit the crime.
