OAP's door kicked in

A BURGLAR kicked down the front door of an 84-year-old Painswick woman as she sat in her armchair on Sunday afternoon.

police are so outraged by the callous act they have called on the district's criminal fraternity to come forward to help identity him.

The man described as white small man aged 30 and wearing dark troucers and a stripped shirt made off with the woman's handbag. The victimn was unhurt but traumatised.

Sgt Geoff Potter has now appealed for the criminal world to name the man. "I would like to appeal to the criminal fraternity who I'm sure will be outraged by this. We hope they can shed some light on this incident.

"Any burglary on the elderly and vulnerable is a serious offence and this type of cowardly offence could have had serious consequences on a woman of that age."

Anyone with any information should call Stroud police on 08450 901234 or CrimeStoppers annoymonously on 0800 555111.
