A different perpective

KAY Adkins has lived in Tetbury for over twenty years and has been seriously photographing it for the last four.

You may have seen her with her tripod and cameras around the town, She likes to capture Tetbury at night as well as during the day and in the different moods each season brings, as well as the more well known landmarks.

The little nooks and crannies that can be easily missed are some of the subjects of Kay's beautiful prints.

She has a talent for capturing a fleeting moment, a different way of seeing a place or a person. She can show us how to find natural art in the beauty of a dandelion as well as reminding us to look around and see how lucky we are to live in Tetbury. It is a town with both history and character.

Superstition aside, Kay is having her first major exhibition in Tetbury Town Hall on Friday 13th June, running for just two days, so you will have to be quick to see her work.

The exhibition shows Kay's versatility with the camera, her subject matter covers people and portraits, flowers and architecture. Most of the prints will be for sale as well as range of hand made cards and notelets.

It marks the culmination of two years studying art at Cheltenham followed by two more years at City of Bristol College working for an HND in photography. She is looking forward to developing further her career as a Photographic Artist, having set up her own studio and dark room at her home in Tetbury.

Kay is already taking commissions and weddings as well as documenting events such as St Mary's on Sunday, which is currently being exhibited in the church.

She hopes that people will visit the exhibition and enjoy seeing places , people and flowers in a different way.

There will be many new photographs well as some favourites presented in a different way. She is using this opportunity to present a new product in the Kay Adkins range already for sale in the town.
