Sponsorship deal for Rovers

FOREST Green Rovers announce they have secured a new shirt sponsorship deal for the next two seasons, involving the first team and replica sales.

Smiths (Gloucester) Ltd have agreed to cement their relationship with the club, which extends back to 1996. Smiths, based at Eastington, are the largest company of their type in the county, employing many who support the club.

Alan commented "As a family we value the ethos of the club. We have built a solid partnership over the years and we now look forward to strengthening it with this deal. The whole of the community should be proud of the achievements of the club and we recognise that our association can only assist us to market our brand name further afield than just Gloucestershire."

As in all partnerships involving the club, no disclosure of the full financial arrangements is to be made. Rovers' marketing and operations manager Colin Peake stated "Suffice to say, the capital income is a tremendous boost. It will be used to good effect, particularly with regards to the new stadium, which is on the horizon.

It is an excellent financial package and we look forward to working closely with all staff at Smiths to enhance their profile through branding, marketing and offering hospitality to them and their customers."

Mr Peake added "To allay any fears, I wish to emphasise to our supporters that we continue with Sheffield Insulations as our main club sponsor. They have been fabulous sponsors to the club. They were keen though to allow us to offer a shirt deal to another company as part of our plans to create more finances towards relocation. I can confirm as a result that the deal with Smiths will therefore be additional capital secured by the club.

A further announcement will be given as to a formal introduction of Smiths to the supporters and players of the shirts to be worn but the shirts will continue as previous years in colour and design. Smiths are keen to ensure that supporters are inconvenienced as little as possible with this change.
