Story of a mother's dilemma

FOLLOWING the success of Laughing Orange's debut production of Skin Tight earlier this year, the company is back at the Everyman Theatre for a full week's run of 'Night, Mother - an intense 90 minute psychological drama played by Jaquie Crago and Kate Abraham - this weekend

The play, 'Night, Mother, is provocative theatre at its best, directed by Horsley-based David Manzi-Fe.

It asks what one would do if a loved one sat down one night and calmly said that they were going to end their life before morning.

This is Thelma's dilemma. Her daughter Jessie is a forty year old suffering from epilepsy, unable to hold down a job, has a drug-addicted son, who is always on the wrong side of the law, and a failed marriage. Jessie can find no reason to go on living. The play closely explores the power base in a mother/child relationship.

Performances run from Friday, September 24 to Saturday, October 2 and include three matinee shows over eight days. Tickets are £7.50 and booking is strongly recommended.
