GYFA County Cup Leckhampton U14s 4 GVR Chalford U13s 6
GVR recorded a memorable victory against a side who play at under 14 level in the Cheltenham league. Despite their obvious physical disadvantage Chalford played some excellent quick passing football.
The ability of the away team to counter attack quickly and the finishing skill and alertness of their front men caught Leckhampton by surprise.
An early two goal lead for GVR was quickly cancelled out by the home team and goals were then exchanged to give a 4-4 half-time scoreline.
In the second half GVR gave less respect to their physically bigger opponents and won the important midfield battle.
This superb defensive and midfield display built the platform for two second half GVR goals without reply from the home side.
The prolific Theo Stubbs scored an excellent hat-trick. The other goals were scored by Luke Thomas, Luke Westbury and an absolute gem from Charlie Bond. The GVR
Chalford Player of the Match was awarded to Theo Stubbs. Mini League Under 9s South Whiteshill 0 Ebley Rovers 2
Ebley kept their good run going with a solid display against Whiteshill. They started slowly before making chances for Lance Rennolds and Toby Hyde and took the lead from the penalty spot after Rennolds was fouled.
Nathan Riddle fired home with confidence. In the second period Rovers created more good chances with second half subs, Jack Coultas and Ollie Robins being denied. The second goal soon followed from Riddle while at the back Joseph Bingle had an outstanding game.
Star Players: Tom Parnell (Whiteshill) and Jack Coultas (Ebley) Under 14s County Cup King's Stanley 7 Lydney B 1
WITH Stanley missing some key players it was good to see the rest of the team in different positions and produce the goods.
With Barstow joining Spring in midfield they controlled play. The new pairing of T Gardner and S Tymbrell up front produced the goals finishing the game off at half-time by being six goals to the good.
Lydney came back in the second half, to their credit, to score a great goal just before Gardner scored again to complete his hat-trick. Tymbrell bagged four goals to give Stanley the spoils.
Mid- Glos Mini Soccer League Rodborough Rovers U9s 7 Hucclecote U9s 1

Alex Buckland Cup Rodborough U12s 5 Bromley Heath United 5 (Rodborough win 4-3 on penalties)
This was a real cat and mouse game which saw Rodborough progress to round two of the County Cup.
Bromley Heath opened the scoring in the 14th minute with Jamie Mather equalising for Rodborough just before half-time.
Jamie got his second minutes into the second half only for Bromley Heath to pull it back and level the game at full-time.
The game went into overdrive in extra time with three goals apiece, Liam Saunders (two) and Joe Holmes for Rodborough. Steven Boyd had a fantastic game in the Rodborough goal making some great saves.
The game went to penalties which saw Jordan Lyon, Luke Bessant, Joe Holmes and Jamie Mather all score from the spot winning the game 4-3 on penalties. Mid-Glos Mini Soccer League
Severnside United 4 Rodborough 2
This was the game that saw Rodborough's 100 per cent record disappear with their first drop of points this year.
Credit must be given to Sevenside who took control of this game right from the whistle and never gave up, but for the heroics of Jacques Ballinger in the Rodborough goal the score could have been a lot higher for Sevenside.
Rodborough did hold out until the 20th minute but then four goals were scored within the next four minutes (Ellis Whiting scoring for Rodborough).
The second half was a bit more even with a goal each. Man of the match Rory Drennann - Rodborough, Tom Lloyd-Jones - Severnside.
Rodborough U8s 3 Minchinhampton Rangers 2
An exciting Saturday afternoon match saw two great strikes from Zack Moulden to put the home team 2-0 up at the half-time break.
Minch started the second half well with some good passing play and were rewarded when Shaun Carr scored with a well driven shot.
The visitors upped the pressure but were caught on the break by Thomas Sullivan and Jack Chudleigh scored for Rodborough.
As the rain started to fall Matthew Hole performed well in the Rangers goal and Philip Ellis scored to make it 3-2.
Player of the match - Henry Nott (Minch). Mid Glos Mini Soccer League
