PAINTINGS inspired by the art of children are now on display at a Stroud caf.
The exhibition at Mills Caf by Ugandan artist Sam Mukumba draws on the common ground found in the doodles of toddlers and adds the skills of a professional artist to create rich, intriguing oil paintings.
"Most of them are inspired by the drawing of children who are under four," said Mr Mukumba.
"It's about the way they see things and interpret the world.
"I've used the same marks children use when they are detailing object they have drawn and also tried to use some of their symbolism."
The exhibition, The Sense of Loss and Memory, went on show last Sunday and can be viewed during normal opening hours at the cafe in Withey's Yard off the High Street.
