CHRISTINE Collister, the folk singer with so much soul one might think she had been signed by Motown, brings her genre-defying sound to Prema in Uley later this month.
Collister's singing career now spans an incredible 20 years. Throughout, she has astounded audiences with her unique blend of soul, blues, pop, jazz, country and folk.
Her talent has not diminished in the slightest - on the contrary, she continues to dazzle audiences wherever she performs.
She first received national attention through singing the theme tune to the BBC series The Life and Loves of A She Devil. Following a fruitful association with The Richard Thompson Band, Christine went on to enjoy a seven-year partnership with Clive Gregson.
Over the years, the name Christine Collister has become familiar and highly respected on the live scene - highly acclaimed at many festivals - from Glastonbury to Winnipeg to Cambridge.
With a gravity-defying voice, assured and impressive live performances and a huge resevoir of charm, she is a phenomenal live act.
As part of her 20th anniversary in the business, Collister will be selling a special DVD at the show featuring music, interviews with Richard Thompson and Bob Harris and much more. The DVD will not be available in the shops until next year.
She will be singing at Prema in Uley on Saturday, November 20 at 8pm. The show is sure to be very popular, so tickets, at £8 or £6 concessions, should be booked early.
