Forest Green's big fish moves to new pond

JEFFERSON LOUIS' controversial and short-lived tenure at Forest Green Rovers is over.

Glen Cockerill's Woking snapped up the London-based striker after Louis had demanded a transfer from the Nailsworth side last week.

Rovers have now recouped the £1,000 fee they paid for Louis, who joined the club from Oxford United in September on a year's contract with a year option.

Louis has also had to pay a fine for missing a training session and the Conference match at York City last month.

Louis was called to a disciplinary meeting at the club last Thursday, when he was fined a week's wages for his non-attendance.

"He wants to play football and he wanted a guarantee that he would be in the starting line-up and we couldn't give him that," said chairman Trevor Horsley.

Meanwhile, physio Steve Lock has taken up a post at Brian Tinnion's Bristol City.

Lock will head- up the Ashton Gate academy starlets and will also assist with the first-team.

Lock joined Forest Green under Nigel Spink after the departure of Ian Weston to Cheltenham Town.
