FROCESTER have sent out an ominous pre-season warning to their Premier Two rivals with the double swoop of former Gloucestershire stars Alastair Bressington and Steve Pope.
The Pounds Close club have captured all-rounder Bressington on a one-year contract.
The former Painswick rugby player had mulled over a number of offers, but has recently secured a cricket coaching job at Kings School and has now opted to settle in the area.
Bressington will replace Australian Matt Obst, who will not be rejoining the club.
Meanwhile Pope, Jack Russell's former Gloucestershire understudy, who played for Bath last season will add strength to the batting order.
Pope's pedigree once saw the Cheltenham-based man represent England at Under-19s level.
The recruitment of Bressington and Pope will take Frocester's number of former Gloucestershire players to four with skipper Nick Trainor and Ben Gannon. Trainor was delighted to bring the new boys to Pounds Close.
" They're great captures for the club," said Trainor.
