Large County profits

GLOUCESTERSHIRE County Cricket Club have achieved an operating profit of £164k, which after depreciation leaves a profit of £90,000.

Honorary Treasurer, Jim Harris said: "It has been our policy to endeavour to marry the provision of sufficient financial resources to field a competitive and well coached team with the requirement to protect the financial viability of the club.

"This has not been an easy task, bearing in mind where we were in terms of our facilities and playing squad resources. At the same time, the level of ECB subvention was being tightened. Therefore, it is all the more heartening to see our income expand to £2.851m - an increase on £282k on last year whilst expenditure has only increased by less than £100k."

The second factor of tremendous significance has been the repurchase of our ground. Gloucestershire now have the substantial security that this gives us, with the additional benefit of being able to utilise the existing facilities and any improvements we make, to increase the income to the club.

Gloucestershire have started to invest in these facilities to the tune of over £200k. These improvements include: the new turnstiles, furnishing the new Club Lounge and the Jack Russell suite, new equipment in the BS7 Sports and Fitness Club, a refurbished indoor school and investment in our IT system.
