Curing the winter blues

JONGLEURS on the Road returns to Stroud's Subscription Rooms next week with a flurry of fabulous funnymen all anxious to help alleviate the January blues.

First up this time round is Noel Brittain from Bath, who has made a splash in his hometown with his witty and well-loved Bizarre Bath tours, which have been one of the tourist highlights for the last ten years.

Brittain has also performed regularly at The Comedy Store, on television and at festivals around the world.

He will be joined by compere Miles Crawford, who was last seen in Stroud in November, when he stepped in at the last minute and proved to be a great hit with the audience.

Also performing is ex-drummer and former Australian Comedian of the Year Steve Hughes.

After stepping out from behind his drum kit, Hughes got some wind in his comedy sails by supporting Mr Methane, touring Ireland and hosting MTV Australia.

The final performer is Dom Carroll, an ex-trainee funeral director, who will be laying out his own personal take on everything from Pet Rescue to arm transplants.

He knew from an early age that he could make people laugh, so it was only natural, he has said, that he take a position with an undertaker's firm in Manchester.

The show takes place at the Subscription Rooms on Thursday, January 27 at 8pm.

Tickets, available from the box office are £10. Group bookings of 10 or more will have a table reserved and receive a £10 voucher for the bar.
