Folk favourites to play at festival

CHELTENHAM Folk Festival returns to Cheltenham Town Hall for its ninth year between Friday, February 11 to Sunday, February 13 with an exciting line-up. The nice people behind the Festival have teamed up with the SNJ to give three pairs of concert tickets to one lucky reader.

2005s exciting line-up has seen a high demand for festival seats, with some true stars of folk music taking the Cheltenham stage. Multi-award winner Eliza Carthy and the inspired Sharon Shannon perform some of the finest fiddle and accordion music for the Saturday Night Concert, which has already sold-out.

The fresh and exciting BELLOWhead playing the Friday Night Opening Concert. Lead by John Spiers and Jon Boden this new ten piece outfit play a totally acoustic set of traditional folk music as it's never been heard before.

Sunday sees Equation arrive in Cheltenham to celebrate their 10th Anniversary. Over the years Equation members have included Kate Rusby and Cara Dillon. With their new starlet Catherine Roberts they continue to be a major player in the world of folk and roots music.

The Festival closes with a strong line-up of traditional music including sensational songsmith Jez Lowe and the Bad Pennies and the ever energetic Flook.
