Amber glows for England

AMBER PENRITH underlined her growing rugby reputation as she helped England women's A team to a comfortable 29-6 victory over France.

The King's Stanley winger struck the third of England A's four touchdowns. Penrith, 24, earned her place after banking three tries as captain of the England Academy in their 36-10 victory in Holland a fortnight ago.

Meanwhile, the senior team who included Stroud office worker Shannon Baker, failed to match the second string in the RBS 6 Nations clash at Imber Court 24 hours later, going down 13-10 to France in injury-time.
