SCHOOL watchdog Ofsted has showered two Stonehouse learning centres with praise in its latest report.
Inspectors delivered a glowing verdict on Park Infant School and in the combined report it also applauded the adjacent Early Years Centre.
The report praised the quality of teaching at Park Infant School and noted the "outstanding" leadership of the head.
Inspectors were also impressed by the "highly positive ethos" of the school and the excellent relationships between staff and pupils.
"Standards are above average in nearly all areas of the curriculum, including English and mathematics and well above average in science," according Ofsted.
"The quality of teaching and learning is very good overall. There is a rigorous and tireless quest for improvement."
Smaller youngsters at the Early Years Centre were also well looked after and were well prepared for school.
Ofsted praised the "well-organised" facility, including the play facilities and security measures and lauded the well-trained staff for their. "We are absolutely overjoyed," said Park Infant Sue Burrows. "We are thrilled and we just think it sums up our school really well.
"It was a very fitting Ofsted and we knew it was going well from day one. We have extraordinarily good teachers and they perform well day after day. "For the school and the Early Years Centre it was the icing on the cake."
Overall the inspectors said there was a "rigorous and tireless quest for further improvement" at Park Infant Schooll and that it provided very good value for money.
The inspection team called for more use of IT facilities to help teach some subjects and urged the school to step up their improvement plans.
