Easter fayre could hold key to survival

HOLD on tight, the white knuckle ride is going to get that little bit more intense as Forest Green enter the final eight games of the season during an Easter period that could decide Rovers' Conference future.

Alan Lewer's side welcome champions elect Barnet, who trounced Rovers' relegation rival s Farnborough Town 7-1 last Saturday, to The Lawn on Good Friday (3pm) and then on Easter Monday make the trip to Gravesend and Northfleet.

The remaining fixtures after the Easter period will see Lewer's side welcome Mark Cooper's Tamworth on April 2. Rovers then travel to fellow relegation candidates Northwich Victoria the following Tuesday before making the arduous and tricky trip to Carlisle on Saturday April 9. Hereford come to the Lawn on April 12, followed by a visit to Morecombe on April 19. Rovers complete the season at home to Canvey Island on April 23.

* BEN CLEVERLEY'S goal failed to save Forest Green from a 2-1 defeat by Yate Town in the semi-final of the Gloucestershire Senior Cup on Monday.
