Easter blues festival hailed a success

STROUD'S second Blues and Beyond Festival, which took place over the Easter weekend, built on last year's success and turned out to be a "very, very good Festival", according to co-organiser Sue Torres.

"We're really pleased with the outcome," said Sue. "John Eeles did loads of work to make it succeed and, although we could have done with a few more people in the audiences, there were more than last year and the atmosphere was excellent.

"Dr Feelgood sold out, as you might expect, but everything else went very well - the workshops were particularly vibrant.

"A 13 year old boy came to one of them - his parents were worried that he might feel excluded, but he spent a happy afternoon jamming with the older blues enthusiasts. He fitted in brilliantly!"

Sue and John expect to back with a third incarnation of the Festival next Easter.
