ALAN LEWER is set to appeal against his sending off against Hereford United after the Forest Green boss was ordered from the dug-out during Rovers' 3-1 defeat last week.
Lewer has been charged by the Football Association following his dismissal by referee Mike Mullarkey.
The official claims Lewer verbally abused him in the tunnel at half-time, but Lewer denies the accusation.
Lewer was forced to watch the second half in the directors' box, but kept in contact with his coaching staff via his mobile phone.
"I did not say anything to the referee and I will definitely be appealing," said Lewer.
"I was having a go at Des Lyttle in the tunnel and in the changing rooms.
The referee has taken it that I was having a go at him, but I have five witnesses that know what happened and as far as I'm concerned there was not an event."
Lewer was set to return to the dug-out for Rovers' last match, as any potential ban will not come into operation until five days after the match with Canvey Island.
Lewer has until April 28 to respond to the charge and can request a personal hearing.
