Drama is witty and cheeky

THE Thelma and Louise of the SAGA generation come to Cheltenham Everyman's Other Space studio theatre this weekend in the form of Breakaway Blues.

Breakaway Blues is a light-hearted comedy, written by Bristol-based writer Eileen O'Haire.

This sharp and witty drama takes a look at how sometimes throwing caution to the wind and grabbling those chances life offers you is the best thing to do.

Breakaway Blues takes a wry look at families, friendships and how to grow old imperfectly.

Renie Barker is dead. At least, she is believed to be dead by all who knew her. When Babs bumps into her years later, their friendship sparks all kinds of reactions. Babs may never wear beige again.

Breakaway Blues is a co-production between The Laughing Orange Theatre Company and the Everyman and will be touring throughout Gloucestershire as part of the Stroud and District Arts Festival in May.

It runs at the Everyman from Friday, April 22 to 29 and comes to Box Village Hall on May 10, The Space in Stroud on May 14 and Horsley Village Hall on May 15.
