A NIGHT of blissful 1970s nostalgia and music comes to Stroud's Subscription Rooms next weekend in the shape of Denim Blues, curated by flare-trousered icons, The Brotherhood of Man.
Denim Blues covers the big hits of the decade, starting with the gentle love/peace influence of Love Grows and United We Stand and ending with the disco power of I Will Survive and YMCA, but it also covers just about everything else that happened in the Seventies.
Denim Blues also revisits the unforgettable TV icons, from Monty Python to The Clangers, Benny Hill to Tiswas. The show explores explosive films: from MASH to The Exorcist, Jaws to Star Wars, Saturday Night Fever to Superman.
Also included in the mix are the politics, the news, the gossip, the events, the inventions, the games, the toys, the adverts, the fashions and all the fun things that began in the seventies like Streaking, Space hoppers, package holidays and jogging.
Who better to tell the Seventies Story than The Brotherhood of Man, who had successive No.1 records in 1975, 1976, 1977 & 1978 and won the Eurovision Song Contest in 1976 with Save Your Kisses For Me, which to date is the official biggest Eurovision winner of all time.
This is a prime opportunity to share their 70's secrets and find out: What did Abba offer in 1975? What was it like to tour with David Soul? What was Marc Bolan like at parties?
Denim Blues is not just for Seventies fans but for all and is designed as a fun-packed journey that the whole family can enjoy.
It takes place on Friday, May 6 at 8pm. Tickets, at £12.50 or £10.50 concessions, are available from the box office.
