Hub spot for music

THE HUB Collective Open Mic night returns to Stroud's Liberal Club this weekend with the usual collection of the cream of Stroud's musicians.

"We've got Jaqueline Kroft confirmed for a spot," said organiser Andy Dunn, "and there's lots of other people coming along.

"The Open Mic night's becoming very popular - almost more than we can cope with! - but it's all good stuff."

The Open Mic nights have been running for well over a year now, and are settling nicely into their new venue.

"We'll be transforming the Liberal Club with projections and great lighting - and of course fabulous music," added Andy, who produced the HUB Collective's recent CD.

"There's a whole series of CDs planned - and we've just finished our studio, so we can record bands ourselves."

The Open Mic night takes place at The Liberal Club, Merrywalks, Stroud on Friday, May 6 at 8.30pm.

Tickets on the door are £3.50, but members get in free. To find out about joining the HUB collective, e-mail hub@sva.org
