FANS' favourite Scott Rogers has pledged his future to Forest Green, but has urged The Lawn's top brass to make a swift decision on a new manager.
"I certainly want to stay," said Rogers. "The club are keen for me to remain, I don't want to go anywhere else and I'm happy to go full-time, but we all need to know who our new manager is going to be."
Rogers, 25, is currently a contracts administrator in Bristol, but would be prepared to take pay cut to remain at The Lawn.
"Training everyday could only improve me as a player, and I would also like to get out and about and do some youth coaching in the community."
Rovers' vice-chairman Colin Gardner was delighted with Rogers' decision.
"This reflects Scott's commitment and fantastic attitude, he is a pleasure to have at Forest Green."
Presently Damon Searle, Mark Beesley, Matt Gadsby, Richie Appleby, Darren Davies, Mark Danks and Tom Gould are contracted to the club and talks are continuing with captain Jon Richardson, who is keen to remain at The Lawn.
Meanwhile, the SNJ understands that John Brough and former Forest Green keeper Steve Book are both keen on a move to Rovers.
Brough was released from Cheltenham Town last season, while Book was surplus to requirements at Andy King's Swindon Town.
Gloucester City's Lee Smith is also believed to be a Rovers target and watched Forest Green's home game against Hereford United last month.
Meanwhile, Gardner revealed the club are currently looking at a number of managerial candidates, which include current coach Alan McLoughlin and current Bristol City development coach Shaun Taylor, who missed out on the Exeter City job last season.
So far Bobby Gould, Darren Perrin and Brian Hughes have ruled themselves out.
Current Rovers coach Mike Davis is undecided as is Paul Warhurst. Graham Allner, who was interviewed in September and remains a strong candidate.
Gardner said: "We have had six applicants already and by the end of the week we anticipate others coming in. We will make a shortlist and then begin interviewing next week."
FOREST GREEN will discover whether they will be saved from relegation after Northwich Victoria were given until May 31 to finish their new stadium.
Rovers will be saved from relegation should Northwich miss the deadline, which would mean they are forced to resign from the Conference National.
Meanwhile representatives from the Football Association will meet on May 11 to make their judgement on Rovers' application to join the Conference North.
