Confident Little ready for Dunlop Masters

STUART LITTLE will enter the Daily Telegraph Dunlop Masters at the Marriott Forest of Arden, Warwickshire on Thursday brimming with confidence.

Little, 37, has been in fine form of late with the Nailsworth golfer finishing equal 10th in the Telecom Italia Open at Castello di Tolcinasco, Milan.

He fired a final round of 74 on Sunday to fall from fifth equal to finish on a nine-under-par total of 279, nine strokes behind winner Steve Webster.

Little had opened with a 72 after his first round on Thursday was halted by lightning after nine holes when he was on level par.

On Friday he shot a eight-birdie round of 64 to find himself only four shots off the lead.

He then fired a third-round 69, but for dropped shots on the 15th and 18th, but he fell away to a 74, including six bogeys, in the final round.

The result moves him up to 56th in the European Order of Merit and it keeps up his fine run of form after he was sixth equal in the BMW Asian Open in Shanghai

He also finished tied in 17th at the Jazztel Open de Espana en Andalucia.

Little was 68th in the Madeira Island Open, equal 19th in the Portuguese Open and tied for 29th in the TCL Classic at Yalong Bay Golf Club, China.

Little is due to take part in the Celtic Manor Wales Open next month, where the tournament will be played for the first time on the resort's Roman Road course.
