THE country's favourite entertainer, Rolf Harris, is set to bring his own brand of magic to Berkeley Castle Meadow on Saturday, August 6 when he tops the bill at Atmosphere, a brand new family-friendly event that mixes top-class music with all-round entertainment.
John Eeles, ex-director of the Stroud Fringe Festival and spokesman for the Gloucestershire-based organisers, Wicked Events, said: "The aim of Atmosphere is to produce events that are fun and will appeal to families, young persons and adults alike.
"We have worked with Rolf before at the Stroud Fringe Festival and we are delighted that he is coming to Berkeley."
Accompanied by his band, Rolf's live shows are legendary for attracting audiences of all ages.
This concert will be one of just six that Rolf is doing this year in Britain and the only one in the West Country, so tickets are a hot commodity.
The entertainment continues on Sunday, August 7 with a show that has already caught the imagination of ticket-buyers; The Wurzels are sharing the bill with American hillbilly clan Hayseed Dixie, a band with a definite difference.
Branded rockgrass, the Hayseeds have been taking the country by storm with their versions of rock classics by the likes of AC/DC, Kiss and Motorhead played on banjo, fiddle and guitar and sung in their own eclectic way.
There will be much else to enjoy at Atmosphere, which promises to live up to its name in fine style.
Tickets are £16/£12 concessions per day in advance or £20/£16 at the gate, should any tickets be left.
