AN ME sufferer who discovered that alternative therapies could help cure her health problems is now celebrating one year in business after setting up alternative therapy centre, Love Is All There Is, in Stroud.
Tracee Williams (CORR), 42, was a successful businesswomen working for a computer company in Cirencester when she fell ill following the birth of her youngest daughter, Florence, four years ago.
Forced to give up her job, due to exhaustion, the mother-of-three turned to Yoga and alternative therapies to help relieve some of the symptoms of her illness and found they worked.
She said: "I was in a position where I felt like the world was against me.
"Yoga helped me deal with my symptoms and it has been a lifesaver for me.
"I went from not being able to walk to the end of the drive to having a lot more energy.
"It was my yoga teacher who then helped me set this place up."
Tracee set up Love Is All There is, situated at the top of Stroud High Street above Soap n' suds launderette, last May and the centre has been growing in popularity ever since with all walks of life.
Decorated to feel like a relaxing stress free haven, Love Is All There Is offers yoga, tai chi, pilates, meditation and chi-gung classes as well as reflexology, massage, aqua detox and hopi ear candle treatments and crystal healing and yoga workshops.
In addition to all these current options the centre is also planning to expand when Tracee qualifies to teach yoga specifically to children and then to ME sufferers later this summer.
"Being in a positive atmosphere and finding people who are inspiring really helped me get back on track.
"Here we have a very nice environment that has been put together with a lot of love and care.
"We want to commit to helping people by doing whatever they need to feel better," said Tracee.
The Love Is All There Is team is also hoping to introduce a corporate package where they travel to businesses and teach yoga or Tai Chi at lunch times to provide staff with a relaxing break.
Tracee said: "It has been proved over and over again that if you take a break and relax it is really beneficial for you and helps you work better.
"It is really important for employers to increase the care they take of their work force in ways they have not been doing to date.
"Especially as sick leave and high staff turnover cost an absolute fortune for businesses."
Tracee has a number of specialist instructors at Love Is All There Is that teach the classes and provide the treatments and is helped at the centre, by Sue Pawlyszen (corr), centre Manager.
Sue, who treats people with Hopi Ear candles and Aqua Detox therapies, said that at Love is all their is they want to make alternative healing accessible to everyone.
"A lot of illnesses nowadays are 20th Century diseases bought on by the way we live so alternative therapies are the way to go," she explained.
"People nowadays rush all over the place and need some quiet time for themselves."
Sue and Tracee say the centre is ideal for people who just want to relax or for people who need help with specific problems but some of their treatments can even help to show what illnesses you could have wrong with you.
Sue explained that her daughter, who has a rare iron deficiency, would never have known about her disorder had she not had reflexology treatments.
"Reflexology is like having your health fortune told through your feet," said Tracee.
Anyone interested in just having a chat about alternative therapies is welcome to look around the centre.
