DALEKS are coming to Stroud - after one local man built his own model of the frightening Dr Who robot.
Don Briggs of the Bassetts, Cashes Green took extermination to the limit when he built the robot out of a compost bin and scrap pieces.
He was donated the tennis balls for his creation by Stroud factory Millikens.
Mr Briggs said that the Dalek is going to be a feature at school and hospital fetes across the summer.
He said: "Six schools and the maternity hospital have already shown an interest in having the Dalek for their fetes.
"I made it because when Dr Who was first out my children were into it and now it's my grandchildren who like it. When I showed them the Dalek their eyes lit up."
The robot is already booked for appearances on May 21 and June 11, 18 15 and 16 but anyone wanting to book the Dalek for other days should call Mr Briggs on 01453 758460 between 1.15pm and 2pm
