Frocester striving for Lord's final

NICK TRAINOR is urging his side not to dismiss the threat of Bath as the Frocester skipper turns his side's focus towards Sunday's Cockspur regional final at Bath.

With Bath sitting at the top of Premier One - a league above Frocester- they will however go into the game as underdogs against a glamourous Frocester side packed with former Gloucestershire stars Trainor, Ben Gannon, Ali Bressington and Steve Pope. Despite this list of heavyweights, Trainor's unnerving confident mood edged somewhat on the side of caution.

He said: "Bath have no superstars, but what they do have is a solid unit, which is something we don't have at the moment."

Frocester reached the regional final for the second consecutive time by beating Swansea by 68 runs. Trainor's side are now one match away from the final 16 leaving Lord's the goal for the Pounds Close side. Trainor added: "I want to win this game and get to Lord's and so do the players."

Frocester's attacking spearhead of Gannon and Bressington is revered as the most potent force outside the county game and it will be this duo who could hold the key to victory.
