Cracking day for racing cars

FAMILIES sped off to the Stroud and District Autograss Club open event near Moreton Valence this weekend.

Over 250 drivers from all over the country revved up their engines, racing cars of every shape, size and colour.

Glen Robins, Wiltshire Autograss League secretary, said: "It was a hugely successful meet. There was some very fast and furious racing.

"It was well-organised and great fun. The spectators said they thoroughly enjoyed it."

The next event is on Saturday 13 and Sunday 14 August, off junction 12 of the M5 B4008 towards Stonehouse, at 10am. Tickets are priced at £7 for the Saturday and £8 for the Sunday, but are free for under 12s.

Proceeds will be donated to local charities including the Pied Piper Appeal.
